Its Complicated !

"I think that two people in a relationship which is near about a decade, breaking up is not that easy, not because of true love but they are so much used to each other", said N. That is when it hit me as to what happens to LOVE in a relationship. Isn't that the first thing which brings two people close, then how come gradually over the years it has no value in the relationship. Is it true for most of us that we stay in a relationship, because we are used to each other than being in love.

I think it is better to walk out of a relationship, rather than staying just because it is more comfortable. Relationships are meant to grow and nurture, only if we love each other and have compatibility then it is  more fulfilling. We often tend to mistake that two people, who are in a long relationship are made for each other. But that is not the case, surprisingly not all such relationships can witness a marriage. On the other hand, a couple who might be seeing each other say about an year or so might end up  getting married. The whole point is that Relationships are not meant to be easy, there are whole lot of things involved. If a person is not sure about the other person than breaking up seems an ideal solution, rather being in a relationship which hold no future.'Love' or 'Likeness' are either of the reason as why people fall for each other but that is not enough to sustain a relationship. Now having a good relationship is not about changing the other person in your life but it is about how you feel about yourself. So be yourself, because it is not worthwhile trying to be somebody else.

I myself find that relationships are very simple but then again they are complicated. Everyone of us have invested a lot of our time in bad relationships, but those were learning curves on our way to find the ideal one.We often start  questioning everything about ourselves like.

"I am not good enough"
''There is something wrong with me''
'' I know, am not that goodlooking''
'' I will never find that special person''

Healthy relationship needs time and focus like any other thing in your life. Navigating  your way between small fights to larger issues and understanding that the other person is just human will make a lot of difference. There is no such thing as soul mate or a perfect partner, like it or not differences in a relationship creeps up because of our exaggerated expectations. You never know that your dorky friend from High school could be the person you might be spending your life with. Its all about how your partner treats you. He/she might not be exceptionally good looking but will love for who you are.

Now this is some really heavy stuff. For now forget everything and start preparing to greet the new year in style.

Wrap it Up

Ah! its finally Saturday, what a relief, but the excitement was short lived as the  'Things to do List' which I hung up so proudly on my refrigerator was staring right at me as soon as I entered. The whole idea of lazying around in my pajamas on Sunday now seems like a distant dream. But 'Thou shall not worry' as I am an optimist.

Well, don't you guys think that the weather is finally getting cooler day by day, I am surely feeling it. The best part of this season is that you get to style yourself in layers and the one accessory that spices up the winter wardrobe is the 'Scarf'. For me its like a second skin, a bright scarf is all you need to brighten up a cold wintry day. Whether it is for warmth or just as an ensemble scarves definitely add that extra oomph. In fact, you can actually wear light scarves in summer as well. Actually scarves are available all through out the year, categorized season wise.

Now, there is definitely something about the way, one wears this beautiful piece and it makes a lot of difference. Even I was naïve until couple of years ago but then my besties  taught me as how to wrap these babies. And my experiments with these  are still on.

Well, I am going to shop some more and hope you guys do the same. For now I am going to finish the latest episode of the Big Bang Theory which I just downloaded.

Have a great Weekend Guys.

Mumbai Darshan

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the festivities around. As for me I was not keeping well and my Mumbai visit was cut short for couple of days only so could not do much. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my short stay and had good time. Here are few snapshots coming your way.

This was taken at Facing East, which serves authentic chinese and we really had a hearty meal, see the smiling faces.

I really went mad seeing the collection and could not decide what to get for my house from this beauiful antique store. There is good number of shops in Oshiwara Mumbai where you can find some really cool stuffs to give your house that personal touch.

With the Gateway of India as the backdrop, it was perfect to capture those memories with my favourite people.

Ferry ride at the Gateway of India, it was super fun. They charge 70 bucks per person for a half n hour ride. Although due to time constrain we could not visit the famous Elephanta Caves(definitely on my next trip). We ended our day with beer at the famous Leopold Cafe.

Now or Never

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about my weight and trust me am not feeling good about this. So I have decided to follow a strict exercise and diet regimen that will help me to stay fit and healthy(not flabby). See, it is not about being size zero, my mantra is to fit in my clothes without any bulges showing off. Moreover you feel good when you look good. Isn't it?

The whole idea of being fit is not only about looking good but it also detoxifies your body and lifts up your mental & emotional well being. And in today's fast paced world where you get everything with a click of a mouse, exercising at least for 30 minutes daily is like taking care of your body, which we otherwise take  for granted.

So my mid year resolution is to  make myself  more fit and healthy...and it started from today. This I am going to do, by making more healthy choice in my food habits , portion control while eating, and exercising for at least 30 minutes everyday. And once I discipline myself about this whole change then I shall focus more on my problem areas (where I tend to put on weight) and be more fit.

And finally an extraction from one of my personal favourite, the famous Bon Jovi had sung this ''It's my Life, its now or never''.

Friends Forever

Hello!

How are you guys? Hope everyone of you is doing good. Besides this weekend has started with a great note, isn't it? With Friendship day, there is so much too do with your Friends.  I remember that during my college and school days, I religiously saved money for this occasion, to buy Cards and Friendship Bands.

My ideal celebration of a Friendship day would be doing something  together with my besties.  Since all of us live in different cities, a vacation with them will be simply great. But if we were in town this weekend, am sure we would all  have loved to go on a Weekend Getaway. I miss everyone of them and fondly remember those days when we were together, shopping, fights, party, breakups and so much.......

It's wonderful how they become a part of our life, from an unknown to a 3.00 am friend. In fact I still remember the day while waiting for an elevator in office, a girl complemented my attire that I wore to office and by the time our floor came, we discussed clothes, style and what is in Vogue. Six years later, Debasmita and I share a strong bond. I have many such episodes of all my friends that this page would not be enough.

I have made friends at different junctures of life and they have been my support system since then. And I know that everyone one of you have these special persons , with whom you can just be yourself.

To all my Friends, just wanted to say that, how lucky I'm to have you Guys in my life....

Happy Friendship Day to all of You.

Oh! by the way my very first outfit post will be here soon.

Love,

Nabanita

Happy Feet

Hi Everyone,
Hope you are enjoying the Monsoon. Me too enjoying it but sadly the water logging in the streets is taking a toll on my feet. That reminds me, how during the rainy season we need to take extra care of our hands and feet. I think they need our attention not just once every month or whenever we have time to visit the Salon. We actually need to take care of them, every day and treat them special every fortnight . No, You don't have to go to salon everytime, just stock up few essentials and you are good to go.

Basics Required :
1) Nail polish remover - Non acetone
2) A hand towel
3) Essential oil (optional), Olive oil/Baby oil
4) Cotton Balls
5) Common salt, a slice of lemon, and 2 to 3 tablespoon of raw milk
6) Foot and hand cream
7) Pumice stone
8) Manicure and Pedicure tools (they are more or less the same)

Procedure
Step 1: Remove old nail polish, and moisturise your hands/feet , make sure they are not dry.
Step 2: Mix the raw milk and the juice of the lemon and apply it all over your hands/feet, keep it till it is dry and then dab it clean.
P.N: It helps in removing the tan and any discoluration
Step 3: Put warm water in a bowl/tub. Then add some salt,  liquid soap and few drops of essential oils (optional). Dip your hands/feet for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 4: Remove  your hands/feet, one by one and then clip, file and buff it neatly. Make sure that there are no debris under the nails. Then lightly scrub and clean your nails with a soft bristled nail brush.
Step 5: Condition the cuticles using essential oil/baby oil/olive oil, then gently push them using a cuticle pusher or an orange woodstick to give a nice shape.
Step 6: Rub with pumice stone underneath your feet to remove dead cells.
Step 7: Wash your hands/feet with water then slather with lotion then massage for 5 minutes. However make sure that before you apply polish, your nails should not be greasy with the lotion.
Step 8: Apply coat of any desired nail polish, let it dry, again apply that coat and apply transparent top coat after the second coat is dry.

Below are some do's that you can add to your daily foot/hand Care routine and it will work wonders.

Apply cuticle oil daily and if it is not available then you can actually apply coconut oil/olive oil/vaseline. And these you can do while you are watching TV at night, or talking to your family.

Apply lotion or body oil to your feet and hand cream before you go to sleep. Try using an anti fungus foot cream during Monsoon.

Use a Pumice stone  in the shower daily to scrub your feet.

Would suggest that if you stay in AC for longer period of your day, then use a hand cream and reapply every couple of hours or whenever your hands are dry.

And trust me with the Manicure and Pedicure kits available in the Market, doing this at home will not only give your feet the much needed attention but you will have some 'ME' time for yourself as well. This might not be possible in a Salon where you are surrounded with people.

So go ahead and flaunt them in style. I shall  see you soon, till then enjoy the RAIN and be gorgeous.

Love
Nabanita.

White & Blue Memories

Hi Guys, Hope everyone is doing well. So much has happened since my last post , World's largest democracy has elected its new Prime Minister. KKR has won its 2nd IPL title, after an amazing comeback in its Seventh Season. So, it suggest that I was out of action for quite a long time.

I recently came across this pics, while rummaging through an old folder in my desktop. This picture was taken an year ago when Aien (on the left hand side) paid a surprise visit to me last summer. We have known each other since last 6 years and she is a Sweetheart (very gorgeous and a fashionista)."I miss you babe".

In these pictures, we both are wearing whites with blue denims. As it  was peak summer, I decided to wear something light. We went out for coffee at Coffee World in South City Mall. Trust me we had an amazing time as we had to do a lot of catching up after such a long time. Oh! I actually did not mention that we met after 3 Years.

Far Away From The Maddening Crowd

Hi everyone, hope all of you are doin fine. Ohhhh, such an amazing feeling to pen down my thoughts. Let me talk about the mini vacation I took this December  to this gorgeous place, in Uttarakhand. Such  a soothing place far away from the maddening crowd of the city, that one could be at peace with oneself.

This was a much needed break both for me and my Husband as we really wanted to go to a place where we could feel at home far from Home. Thanks to my friend Neha that we came to know about this place. Here let me take you to those memories.

For me it was the perfect way to start a New Year. Happy New Year Guys.
