Know your self......part 1

Helloooo Gorgeous People,

           How are you guys doin?
It has been  really long since my last post but i 'm sure, you all are having great time as the festive season officially starts  this month and will continue  till the dawn of New Year. As Diwali is just around the corner and we are all gearing up to look  our festive best. Now moving on with my post, which is all about decoding your own body type. You don't have to have a zero figure in order to dress good, you just need to know which type of body you have.

Main traits of  a Ruler or Banana shape body : Lean, have slim hips. legs and arms. Trendy trousers with high waist , typically masculine and androgynous works best for this body type. One can team up with a slim fitting but structured shirt for an office wear and a silky blouse or tops with ruffles, gathers / puff  sleeved blouse  for an evening outfit for that voluminous effect.

Avoid wearing  skin tight lycra or  fine knitted jersey tops which clings to your body and do not flatter this  body type.   For traditional wear , you can opt for a   Voluminous lehengas , high- waisted  sharara pants, with halter neck  blouse. Patiala churidar with a slim fit kurta will also look good. But make sure to opt for high or close necklines only.

Love at First sight.....

 Hello beautiful people,

     How was your weekeeeeend?
Well, let me tell you an interesting fact about myself. I have this insane,(according to my family) habit of collecting bags.  I love bags, be it a clutch, jhola, totes, any  unusual piece  that catches my eye.

A month ago when SS was having sale, after a loooot of convincing , my husband finally agreed to accompany me but only on one condition that, 'i shall not buy anything'. As i was checking stuffs randomly, I came accross this beautiful suede messenger bag on 'SALE'. One look at it and this song started playing in my head, 'You are mine baby'. So after a lot of drama with my Hubby, finally here it is.

Gone are those days..................

We all remember that how we constanly worried about the fact that , our slip might show or our how coat is longer than our dress. But  thanks to layering , we can leave these worries behind, from Runaways to Street , this whole new idea of  layering one garment over another has created quite a storm. And given its style radar, I' m very sure that it is not going to fade away any time soon.

Layering  is fashionable and at the same time it gives a very edgy look to any outfit. This whole concept has a very practical advantages too, especially in places where temperature is very unpredictable. For eg. if the weather is cold but not very chilled , we can team a light sweater with a structured jacket on top and then you can add a light scarf too(the scarf is like a cherry on top).

Even during summers, you can wear a summer dress over a skirt, but remember that the dress should be a bit longer than the skirt. Not only this if you are not comfortable wearing a racer back , then you can pair it up with a shirt and keep 2-3 buttons open so that one can get a peek as what you are wearing inside. Not only this you can also jazz up your evening outfit, like wearing a short structured jacket over your dress.
Layering helps you to wear some of your unconventional  outfits which otherwise might raise some eyebrows.

Palazzos are so in......

For me fashion is all about being comfortable. I follow a simple mantra , i.e, one should wear what one is comfortable in rather than blindly following someone. I seriously cannot wear denims day in and day out, like a true aquarian i get bored too easily, so for me change is constant.

I strongly feel that every girl's closet should have a pair of palazzos, as they are a perfect amalgamation of  3 C's :  Comfortable, Cool  and Chique . Nothing like a pair of pallazos teamed with simple T-shirt and you are good to go.

Ladies in this context , try wedges sandals , flip flops or gladiators (looks good with cropped palazzos), also dn't forget to accesorize your outfit.

Do try this and let me know your comments.......... oh btw , i tried the same look and added a denim waist coat over a white shirt, turned out to be a good combo......

Guilty Weekend

The shopaholic in me is never satisfied no matter how much shopping I do. As you all know that it is that time of the year where almost all the retailers are screaming sale every where You go. When my husband asked me to try some outfits, I very proudly declare that," i am practicing self-control", but i lost all my so called self control once I saw  this lovely suede messenger bag on sale . Then I went on to buy a pair of leggings as well as a beautiful handcrafted ring.
After shopping I kind of felt guilty of the fact that I had splurged so much and all my idea of self-control just went out of the window. But then one look at my shopping bags, all my guilt feeling gets converted into a huge smile.
I hope everyone enjoyed your weekends even though short but sweet.

Rain, Rain Please Go away...........

I so want to go out in the sun as I am tired of this weather,  not to mention the Kolkata roads in this monsoon . Too much of rain makes me sad and gloomy, everything around you is damp and cold . And to make the matter worse you have to carry extra clothes to your office in case you get wet in the rain.

This downpour every now and then makes it very difficult to take go for brisk stroll around my neighbourhood. It is not that i do not enjoy the monsoon at all , is just that too much of rain makes very lazy and don't feel like going out. But then one thing I definitely love is having ' garam garam chai in a chai shop, while it rains outside.
